Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

The Blue Line in Coachwood Avenue is the BEST place to drop off and pick up children in the morning and afternoon. We have teachers on duty every afternoon to assist with the process. The least amount of traffic we can have entering Firethorn Place, the safer it will be for students crossing to and from the community carpark.

The rules for the use of the Blue line are

- Parents using the Blue Line should not leave their cars but wait patiently in them.  At no time is a car to be left standing unattended on the Blue Line.  This can draw a fine from the ranger and it totally disrupts traffic flow

- Cars shuffle forward as each car leaves the top of the line

- All students load from the top of the line.  No child should be entering cars at the bottom of the line as this means cars are ducking in and out of the line creating traffic hazards.

- Teachers may assist by opening doors for students, passing their bags in, closing the door etc.   This keeps everything moving.

- As drivers take off from the top of the line, please be vigilant and give way to traffic coming up Coachwood Ave.

- In the morning, the Blue Line is a Kiss and Drop line.  Drop your child at the top of the line and drive off carefully.

Drop off at Coachwood Avenue – be alert and drive without distractions – stop for pedestrians – drive to the speed limit (or slower). Ensure children leave the car on the kerb-side door, never from the road-side door. Kiss-and-go quickly and safely.

Parking on school grounds
