Our high potential and gifted education opportunities
The creative domain refers to natural abilities in imagination, invention and originality. Our school is proud of its strong performing arts culture, with representation and involvement in:
- School Choir and District Choral Festival
- Performing Arts Festival
- District and Tablelands talented dance opportunities
- In-school music lessons, ukelele group, music tuition on-site
- Rostrum and Multicultural public speaking
- Art competitions
- Regional Debating
The intellectual domain refers to natural abilities in processing, understanding, reasoning, and the transfer of learning. We support students in a range of ways to develop their talents in and beyond the classroom through:
- Extension Maths Groups
- Maths Olympiad competition
- Premier's Reading challenge annually
- ICAS assessment challenges
- Annual Spelling Bee
- Write-on competition
- Writing Groups
- Debating and critical thinking
- Chess Club and outside competitions
The physical domain refers to natural abilities in muscular movement and motor control. Students are supported and encourage to build their talents through:
- School swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals
- PSSA knockout competitions in 10 different sports
- In-school sports challenges throughout year
- Premier's Sporting Challenge
- Sporting pathways to District, Regional & State representation
The social-emotional domain refers to natural abilities in self-management and relating to and interacting with others. We support and develop the abilities of our students through:
- Leadership opportunities Yrs 2-6 - SRC, peer support
- Grip Leadership course

What is high potential and gifted education?
High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
